Terms and Conditions

Last updated: November 5, 2026

These terms apply when you use FlightsScanner.ca or buy travel services from us. FlightsScanner.ca is owned and operated by Flights Scanner Inc., 6703 98 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB, T6A 0A4 (IATA TIDS #96205303). By using this website or booking with us, you agree to these terms.

1. Our Role as a Travel Agent

We act as an intermediary between you and the airlines, consolidators and other suppliers that provide travel services. We don’t own or operate airlines.

Your contract for the flight itself is with the airline. The airline’s fare rules and conditions of carriage apply in addition to these terms.

2. Quotes, Availability and Pricing

  • Fares shown or quoted by phone, email or message depend on availability and can change until your booking is confirmed and ticketed.
  • We’ll tell you the total price, including taxes, airport fees and carrier surcharges, before you book.
  • Prices are in Canadian dollars unless we tell you otherwise.
  • A booking is confirmed only when we send you a written confirmation or e-ticket. Quotes are not guarantees.
  • Airlines may change fares, taxes or surcharges before ticketing. If this happens, we’ll tell you before going ahead, and you can accept or decline the new price.
  • Phone-only deals and unpublished fares are limited to select routes and dates, and may carry their own rules. We’ll explain those rules before you pay.
  • If an obvious pricing or description error occurs, we may correct it and let you choose to go ahead at the correct price or cancel with a full refund of amounts paid.

Optional extras such as bags and seats may cost more, and airlines may charge for them directly.

3. Service Fees

We may charge a service fee for booking, changing, cancelling or reissuing travel. We’ll tell you about any fee before you pay. Service fees are earned when the service is performed and are non-refundable, except as stated in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

Service fees are separate from any airline penalty, fare difference or tax.

4. Payment

  • We confirm your itinerary and total with you before taking any payment.
  • Card payments are handled through Moneris and Stripe, over encrypted connections.
  • Flight tickets must be paid in full at the time of booking, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
  • By providing a payment method, you confirm that you’re authorized to use it, and you authorize us to charge the agreed amount.
  • Your statement may show separate charges for the fare and our service fee.
  • We may verify identity and payment details, and may decline or cancel a booking if we suspect fraud.

5. Ticketing and Traveller Information

  • Check your names. Each traveller’s name must match their passport or government-issued travel ID exactly. Errors may lead to airline correction fees or the need to buy a new ticket, at your cost.
  • Check your itinerary. Review your confirmation as soon as you receive it and tell us right away about any error.
  • Tickets aren’t transferable. Airline tickets generally can’t be given to someone else.
  • Use flights in order. Skipping a flight, including a no-show, can cancel the remaining flights on your ticket.
  • Check in on time. Each airline sets its own check-in and boarding deadlines.

6. Voluntary Changes

A voluntary change is one you ask for, such as a new date or route.

  • Whether a change is allowed depends on your fare rules.
  • You pay any airline change fee, fare difference and our service fee.
  • Changes aren’t confirmed until we confirm them in writing and any amount owing has been paid.
  • Contact us before your flight departs, because a ticket may lose its value after a no-show.

7. Involuntary Changes

An involuntary change is one made by the airline, such as a schedule change, delay or cancellation.

  • Airlines may change schedules, routes, aircraft or flight times, and flights may be delayed or cancelled. We aren’t responsible for these changes.
  • We’ll try to tell you about any change we learn of, using the contact details you gave us. Please keep them up to date.
  • Airlines are responsible for the rebooking, refunds, care and compensation they owe under their rules and the law, including Canada’s Air Passenger Protection Regulations where they apply.
  • We’ll help you understand your options. We won’t charge a service fee for helping with an airline-initiated cancellation.

8. Cancellations and Refunds

Our Refund and Cancellation Policy forms part of these terms. It explains our 24-hour cancellation rules, fare rules, refund timing and how to make a request.

9. Travel Documents

You’re solely responsible for valid passports, visas, electronic travel authorizations such as eTA or ESTA, vaccinations and any other entry, exit or transit requirements. Requirements can change, so confirm them with the relevant government before you travel. Canadians can start at travel.gc.ca.

If you’re refused boarding or entry because of missing documents, the costs are your responsibility.

10. Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend travel insurance covering trip cancellation, trip interruption, medical emergencies and baggage. It should be bought at the time of booking, because some benefits depend on that. Insurance is optional, and we aren’t responsible for losses it would have covered.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

  • We aren’t liable for acts, errors, omissions, delays, cancellations, injuries, loss, damage or expenses caused by airlines, other suppliers or third parties, or by events beyond our reasonable control, such as weather, strikes, war, pandemics, government actions or natural disasters.
  • Our total liability for any claim related to a booking is limited to the service fees we received for that booking.
  • International air travel may be governed by treaties such as the Montreal Convention, which may limit airline liability.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that can’t legally be excluded, or limits your rights under applicable consumer protection law.

12. Website Use

You agree not to misuse this website, attempt unauthorized access, scrape its content without permission or use it for unlawful purposes. Website information is general and may change. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience, and we aren’t responsible for their content.

Airline names are used only to describe flight itineraries and do not imply endorsement or affiliation. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.

13. Communications

By booking with us, you agree that we may contact you by email, phone, text or messaging apps about your booking. With your consent, we may also send promotional messages, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

14. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, except where your local consumer protection law requires otherwise. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any concern.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted when you book applies to that booking, unless the law requires otherwise.
